The ME2000 is an operating system focused on wireless networking. It is linux based, and was originally a variant of the LEAF Bering 1.2 release. See leaf.sourceforge.net for more information on LEAF. The current development is multi-platform, and is based around Busybox. See www.busybox.org for more information on busybox. ME2000 uses madwifi drivers for wireless, and has a web GUI for configuration.

Early in 2011, buildroot was tested and found to be much more mature than when this distro was first developed. If you want a linux distro from scratch, where you get to choose what's included, have a look at www.buildroot.org
